Total Pride: Our Young People Shine at the Robotics World Championship in South Korea

At the Marina Orth Foundation we are filled with pride.

Our students Manuela, Jerónimo, Shalin and Salomé, from rural communities in Antioquia, represented Colombia at the 12th International Youth Robot Competition (IYRC), held on August 5 and 6 in South Korea, and returned with gold and silver medals, and excellence awards.

There were more than 2,000 participants from 18 countries, but they managed to stand out thanks to their talent, creativity, and commitment. Their robotics projects not only impressed the judges but also addressed real challenges in their communities, proving that innovation can be born in any corner of the country.

Our Results at the World Championship:

 Gold - Creation

Silver - Creation, Save the Forest

Silver - Community Project Design

Honorable Mention - Save the Forest, Creation

This achievement reaffirms our mission: to provide access to quality education, science, technology, and innovation for children and youth in rural and vulnerable areas.
We deeply thank our partners, the Mayor’s Office of Medellín, the Sofía Pérez de Soto Foundation, Joe Hawkin, LEANTECH, Nelita, Bigtronica, GR Logística Integral, San Blas, High Tech, volunteers, and every person who believes that education is the greatest driver of social change.

Because when we give them tools and opportunities, they can go as far as they dream… even all the way to South Korea.
