720 students from Medellin trained in robotics, artificial intelligence and virtual reality with STEM methodology

In a collaborative initiative led by the Marina Orth Foundation and was granted Mayor's Office of Medellín720 students and 24 teachers from public schools in Castilla, Buenos Aires, Villa Hermosa, and Santa Elena participated in a five-day New Technologies Bootcamp Using a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)methodology, participants explored hands-on learning in robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), the Internet of Things (IoT), 3D fabrication, and web design.

Beyond technical skills, the program promoted the development of creativity, teamwork, and problem solving focused on real community challenges. Student teams developed practical projects—from smart irrigation systems to urban recycling apps—demonstrating how technology can empower social transformation. Teachers also received training in robotics, gamification, and computational thinking, strengthening Medellín’s vision of becoming a digital innovation hub while opening doors for youth from underserved communities to thrive in the digital era.
