720 Students in Medellín Trained in Robotics, AI, and Virtual Reality through STEM Bootcamp

In a collaborative initiative led by the Marina Orth Foundation and was granted Alcaldía de Medellín720 estudiantes y 24 docentes from public schools in Castilla, Buenos Aires, Villa Hermosa, and Santa Elena participated in a five-day Bootcamp of New Technologies. Using a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)methodology, participants explored hands-on learning in robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), the Internet of Things (IoT), 3D fabrication, and web design.

Beyond technical skills, the program fostered creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving focused on real community challenges. Student teams developed practical projects—from smart irrigation systems to urban recycling apps—demonstrating how technology can empower social transformation. Teachers also received training in robotics, gamification, and computational thinking, strengthening Medellín’s vision of becoming a digital-innovation hub while opening doors for youth from underserved communities to thrive in the digital era.
